Engineer planning work at a whiteboard

Home / How we work & pricing

Clear from the first conversation.

No opaque quotes, no surprise invoices, no lock-in. Here is exactly how we engage, how we price it, and what you get to keep. If a number cannot be justified, it does not go in a proposal.

Three ways to work with us

You pick the shape that fits the problem — not a package we need to sell.

01

Fixed-scope project

A defined build, migration or assessment with a written scope and a fixed price agreed up front. You know the number and the deliverables before we start. Best when the outcome is clear: a custom system, a cloud migration, a penetration test, a security assessment.

02

Managed retainer

A monthly agreement for ongoing administration, monitoring, support and security — with agreed response times and a named engineer who knows your environment. Best when you need IT and security to simply keep working, and want a predictable monthly cost instead of firefighting.

03

Advisory & extra capacity

Priced by the day or the block of hours, sitting alongside your existing team. Best when you have people but need senior depth — a threat model reviewed, an architecture decided, a project that needs one more experienced pair of hands.

What sets the price

The honest version. Four things move a quote, and none of them are hidden.

A fair price starts with an honest scope. When we quote a project, four things decide the number, and we will tell you which ones are driving it: the size and complexity of the work, how much of it is build versus operate, the security and compliance bar you are held to, and the urgency. A straightforward migration on a normal timeline sits at one end; a bespoke platform that has to pass audit, on a deadline, sits at the other.

What we do not do is pad. We are a small, senior team working remotely, which keeps our overhead low and lets us quote sensibly rather than building a margin for a sales layer you never asked for. More than one client came to us after being over-quoted elsewhere and stayed because the price matched the work. For requirements under the micro-purchase level, we can turn around a fixed quote within one business day.

What you always get

Included in every engagement, regardless of size or price.

·

You own everything

Repositories, credentials, infrastructure code and documentation live in your accounts from day one. End the engagement whenever you like and keep operating — no hostage negotiation.

·

Documented handover

Runbooks and documentation so your team, or the next provider, can pick up where we left off. We build things to be maintained, not to make us indispensable.

·

The same engineers

You talk to the people doing the work. No account layer translating between you and the person who understands your system.

·

Honest scoping

If you do not need the expensive thing you asked for, we say so. If a request is out of our lane, we tell you and point you somewhere better.

Tell us the problem. Get a real number.

Describe what you need in technical terms and we will come back with a scope and a price you can actually plan around — usually within one business day. No obligation, no sales script.
